Tetracycline
Tetracycline is intended for the efficient treatment of bacteria-induced infections, including chlamydia, acne, gonorrhea and other ones as prescribed by your health care provider. Tetracycline can be harmful to unborn and nursing baby. It can affect bone and tooth development of the nursing child later in life. As for the effects of tetracycline on unborn babies – teeth discoloration is one of the few ones. Giving tetracycline to children younger than 8 is also not recommended as this may lead to the permanent yellowing or graying of the teeth. Watch for the side effects as you go on with the treatment. There are mild side effects and more serous side effects that need to be reported to your doctor as soon as possible. The mild side effects most commonly experienced by patients taking tetracycline include vomiting, stomach upset, mild nausea, or vaginal discharge, diarrhea, vaginal itching, sore mouth and lips, or swollen tongue. In case of having any of these serious side effects call your doctor right away: blurred vision, fever, confusion, loss of appetite, blistering, severe stomach pain, yellowed skin , easy bruising and bleeding.
